Purchases are linked to your Apple ID, and for privacy reasons we do not have access to your Apple ID email address. Purchases can be restored using the “Restore Purchases” option in the app.
Q: How can I join the beta versions of Airmail?

Q: How do I add an iCloud account with two-step authentication?
A: Enable Two-Step Verification on your Apple account, then follow the two-step authentication guide for Airmail.
Q: Which protocols does Airmail support?
A: IMAP (yes), POP3 (yes), Exchange 2007+ (yes), and ActiveSync (not yet, no ETA).
Q: What should I do if my Exchange endpoint URL isn’t working?
A: Manually enter https://domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx (replacing domain.com with your domain). Test it in a browser; if you’re prompted to log in, the URL is correct.
Q: Can I sync settings across devices?
A: Yes, use iCloud sync in Airmail settings > Account settings > Save settings on iCloud.
Features and how to use them
Q: How do I enable read receipts?
A: On iOS, read receipts are not supported after May 11, 2017. On macOS, install the read receipts plugin and enable it in Preferences > Plugins.
Q: How can I send encrypted emails?
A: Install S/MIME or GPGTools, then enable encryption in Preferences > Security when composing.
Q: How do I use templates?
A: In the compose window, select “Save as Template.” Access saved templates from the compose toolbar.
Q: How do I snooze a message?
A: Right-click the message > Snooze > choose a return time.
Q: How can I delay sending messages?

Troubleshooting
Q: Why am I getting a wrong credentials error?
A: Check your details, and use app-specific passwords if required.
Q: How do I fix performance issues?
A: Limit attachment downloads and restrict sync in Preferences > Accounts > More.
Q: Why am I not getting notifications?
A: Make sure emails remain in the Inbox. Rules that move messages out of the Inbox disable notifications.
Q: Does Airmail work with VPNs or proxies?
A: Some may block Airmail. Disable them if issues occur.
Q: How can I change the delete key behavior?
A: Go to Airmail settings > Keyboard > Delete.
Q: Why can’t I send attachments to Evernote?
A: Make sure they are downloaded before sending.
Q: Where is the Outbox?
A: It is found in the Drafts folder.
Q: Why are my sent emails not appearing in the Sent folder?
A: Check your account settings to make sure “Store sent messages on the server” is enabled.
Q: Why are images not loading in emails?
A: Go to Preferences > Privacy and make sure “Load remote images” is enabled.
Q: Why are some emails displaying incorrect time or date?
A: Verify your device’s time zone and date settings.
Q: Why can’t I search all my emails?
A: Make sure “Include Trash and Spam” is enabled in Preferences > Advanced, and increase the sync period in your account settings.
Q: Why is the Airmail icon on macOS not showing a badge count on the dock?
A: Make sure these options are enabled to get the count in the macOS version:
Go to Airmail settings > Account > double-click the account > User > Show in Unified Inbox.
Go to Airmail settings > General > Use Unified Inbox.
Go to System Settings > Notifications > Airmail > Show badge app icon.
Q: What is the best and fastest way to fix odd or persistent problems?
A: Clear the Message Cache. This is the most effective way to reset Airmail’s local data and start fresh. It removes stored message data and forces Airmail to re-download everything from the server. Go to Preferences > Accounts > [Select Account] > More > Clear Message Cache. This does not delete your emails from the server, but it rebuilds your local database.
Privacy and data
Q: What is your privacy policy?
A: Messages are not stored. Snooze Sync stores only the message ID and email address. The full privacy policy is available on the Airmail website.
Q: Is Airmail GDPR compliant?
A: Yes. Temporary data is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. You can remove your data at airmailapp.com/dataremoval or by emailing contact@airmailapp.com.
Storage and migration
Q: Can I store emails on an external drive?
A: No, due to sandbox restrictions.
Q: How do I migrate Airmail to a new Mac?
A: Copy ~/Library/GroupContainers/it.bloop.airmail2 to the same path on the new Mac.

Q: Can I search Trash and Spam?
A: Yes, enable it in Preferences > Advanced.
Q: What happens when I archive a message?
A: It moves to the Archive folder, or to All Mail on Gmail.
Q: How can I select multiple emails?
A: On macOS, Command+Click. On iPhone, tap and hold. On iPad, double-tap.
Q: How do I add emoji in emails?
A: Go to the menu bar > Edit > Emoji and Symbols.
Q: Which integrations are unavailable?
A: Grammarly, Slack, Salesforce, Recall, Boomerang, OneNote, and Daylite.
